This disease can be diagnosed with urine and blood tests. These tests will both show very high levels of glucose. This disease can be treated with insulin injections. While he or she in on insulin injections, know that frequent blood tests must be performed to know how much insulin he will need in order to keep his blood glucose within normal levels.

Obesity – There are plenty of causes of obesity. Knowing such causes will greatly help in preventing your cat become obese. Always be reminded that obesity in cats might result to diabetes, liver disease, arthritis, and even death. In terms of losing extra weights, it must be done very carefully. You must know that cats that lose weight too fast may develop hepatic lipidosis – you would surely not want this to happen to your cat. It is indeed a smart choice to consult your vet if you want your cat to lose weight.
